Description: It has been used in dyspepsia and symptoms
attending hysteria and other disorders.
Internal uses: The seed is also used in the treatment of bronchitis
and coughs. It has been used for flatulent indigestion, especially with babies with colic because it aids in prevention of fermentation in the stomach and aids digestion. It can be chewed raw for the almost immediate relief of indigestion. The seed is also said to increase the production of breast milk in nursing mothers. Also good for colic and irritable bowel syndrome if taken with peppermint oil.
External uses: Use as a poultice for bruises.
Suggested dosage: Tincture 0.5--4 ml 3 times daily.
